## About the role As a **Software Development Engineer III** you will be a senior individual contributor at Tesco Bengaluru. You are expected to have deep technical depth, provide technical leadership, mentor colleagues, and influence hiring practices. The role focuses on building high‑performance cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native and the Expo ecosystem. ## What you'll do - Develop and maintain React Native mobile apps for iOS and Android from a single codebase. - Leverage Expo tools (EAS, Expo Router, latest SDKs) to deliver performant, accessible, and secure experiences. - Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and engineering managers to translate requirements into scalable solutions. - Optimize apps for speed, scalability, and accessibility; integrate APIs (GraphQL or REST) and third‑party libraries. - Write clean, reusable code using TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and state‑management libraries such as Redux Toolkit or Zustand. - Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban), use JIRA/Confluence, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines with Git/GitHub. ## Required qualifications - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. - **8+ years** of experience as a Software UI Engineer in enterprise or product companies. - Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with React Native and Expo, strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript, React hooks, and component lifecycles. - Proven expertise with state‑management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or MobX), mobile deployment processes, and CI/CD workflows. - Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Native Testing Library, Appium) and design tools like Figma. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; ability to lead and take ownership. ## Benefits - Competitive fixed pay with incentive components as part of Tesco’s Rewards framework. - 30 days of leave, health insurance covering dependents, mental‑wellbeing programs, and financial‑wellbeing coaching. - Opportunities for retirement planning (NPS, VPF) and employee share‑ownership (SAYE). - Access to on‑site sports facilities and a green campus promoting physical wellbeing. - Inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and personal growth.
