## About the Role Jobright.ai is building AI‑driven career technology and is looking for a recent graduate to join as a Backend Engineer. You will help design and ship scalable services, APIs, data systems, and infrastructure that power the next generation of job‑search agents. ## What You'll Do - Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs. - Build reliable data models, integrations, and internal tooling. - Improve system scalability, performance, and observability through monitoring and profiling. - Write automated tests, enforce code quality, and participate in incident resolution. - Collaborate closely with frontend, AI, data, and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end features. ## Required Qualifications - Recent graduate (or graduating soon) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or TypeScript. - Solid understanding of databases, APIs, networking, and backend fundamentals. - Experience with Git, testing frameworks, and modern software development workflows. - Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities. ## Preferred Skills - Experience with FastAPI, Django, Node.js, or Java Spring. - Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and cloud platforms. - Knowledge of distributed systems, message queues, or asynchronous processing. - Interest in AI infrastructure and developer tools. ## Benefits - Work on real, production AI agents used by thousands of users. - High ownership and impact from day one. - Opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, agents, and product. - Flexible remote work options.
