## About the Role BeaconFire Inc. is seeking a motivated Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, production‑ready backend services. The position focuses on Java‑based development and the integration of Generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications. ## What You'll Do - Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using modern software engineering practices. - Work with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, ensuring efficient data management. - Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code while conducting unit, integration, and performance testing. - Participate in Agile/Scrum teams throughout the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring. - Create technical documentation for APIs, deployment procedures, and system architecture. ## Generative AI Integration - Build AI‑powered features using Generative AI technologies, RAG pipelines, and LLM‑based applications. - Integrate AI models via frameworks such as Spring AI and LangChain4j. - Work with vector databases, embeddings, chunking, and retrieval optimization to deliver intelligent data retrieval solutions. - Stay current with emerging AI, LLM, and Agentic AI trends. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Strong fundamentals in object‑oriented programming; experience with Java, C++, C#, or Kotlin. - Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and SQL. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and software testing. - Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. - Willingness to transition to Java‑centric backend development and a keen interest in Generative AI. ## Benefits - Medical, vision, and dental insurance. - 401(k) retirement plan. - Opportunities to work on cutting‑edge AI projects within a collaborative environment.
