## About the Role Komatsu Mining Technology Solutions is looking for a Software Engineer I to design, build, and support mission‑critical software services that power our automation products. This entry‑level position focuses on implementing well‑scoped stories within distributed autonomous services, translating defined requirements into maintainable code and automated tests under the guidance of senior engineers. ## What You'll Do - Develop and maintain software components using modern object‑oriented languages. - Create, consume, and test REST APIs with guidance. - Write unit tests and contribute to integration testing and CI pipelines. - Collaborate closely with product, QA, and field teams to deliver incremental improvements. - Follow established design, coding standards, and secure coding practices while supporting production services through log and metric analysis. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). - 0‑2 years of professional software development experience (internships, co‑ops, or relevant projects considered). - Strong programming fundamentals, object‑oriented concepts, and basic design patterns. - Familiarity with REST APIs, source control, code reviews, and build processes. - Ability to write and maintain automated unit tests and basic exposure to CI pipelines. - Good collaboration and communication skills. ## Preferred Skills & Benefits - Experience with event‑driven microservices, cloud‑native deployment patterns, and containerization. - Knowledge of network protocols, network programming, and distributed application debugging. - Exposure to secure coding concepts and data handling best practices. - Opportunity to work in a global, innovative environment that values diversity, sustainability, and professional growth.
