## About the Role Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join its Missile Defense team in Mount Laurel, NJ. The role focuses on leveraging advanced software automation, model‑based systems engineering, and AI‑driven capabilities to accelerate defense capability development and reduce lifecycle costs for the Department of Defense. ## Key Responsibilities - Develop, test, and maintain software applications and features. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement new capabilities and resolve defects. - Write reliable, maintainable code following engineering, security, and quality standards. - Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and debugging activities. - Integrate software components, APIs, and third‑party technologies into existing systems. - Support software deployment, maintenance, and modernization efforts. - Create and maintain technical documentation and development artifacts throughout the software development lifecycle. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 0–3 years of professional software development experience. - Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript. - Familiarity with Git (or similar version control), Linux‑based environments, and command‑line tools. - Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL). - Experience with container technologies like Docker, Podman, or OCI‑compliant containers. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. - Ability to obtain/maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance and work on‑site (5 days/week). ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience scripting for automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevSecOps practices. - Experience working in Agile development environments. - Ability to travel up to 10% as required. ## Benefits - Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. - Generous PTO, paid holidays, 401(k) with immediate vesting and matching. - 9/80 work schedule (second and fourth Friday off each month). - Tuition assistance, professional development resources, and pre‑tax commuter benefits. - Regular social events, catered lunches, and monthly tech‑connect sessions. - Inclusive, entrepreneurial culture with offices across the U.S.
