## About the role We are hiring an Associate Software Engineer to join Cornerstone's team in Pune. In this hands‑on engineering position you will build and support scalable backend services, data integrations, and cloud‑native applications. You will write production‑grade Java code using Spring Boot, work with a variety of AWS services, and contribute to micro‑services and event‑driven architectures while learning best practices for design, testing, deployment, and operations. ## What you'll do - Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot. - Design, implement, and optimize data integrations and event‑driven workflows with AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Lambda, and EC2. - Write clean, testable code and create unit/integration tests to improve automated test coverage. - Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), and containerization using Docker (ECS/EKS). - Debug production issues using logs, metrics, and tracing; contribute to incident resolution and root‑cause analysis. - Collaborate with senior engineers, QA, DevOps/SRE, and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end features. ## Required qualifications - 0–2 years of relevant software development experience (including internships or projects). - Strong fundamentals in Java (Java 8+), object‑oriented programming, collections, streams, and concurrency. - Experience with Spring Boot and building RESTful APIs. - Working knowledge of AWS services, especially DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, or Lambda. - Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle, and basic CI/CD concepts (Jenkins preferred). - Understanding of microservices architecture, Docker containers, and Linux/Unix commands. - Good problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills. ## Nice to have / What you'll learn - Exposure to AWS ECS/EKS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). - Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. - Knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Splunk) and security scanning (SAST/DAST). - Opportunities to work on AI/ML integrations and contribute to open‑source projects. ## Our culture Cornerstone believes in AI that amplifies human judgment.
