## About the role Optum India is a global health‑technology organization focused on improving health outcomes through data, analytics, and AI‑driven solutions. As an Associate AI or ML Engineer you will help design, develop, and deploy AI‑powered applications that enhance products, workflows, and decision‑making across the company. ## Primary Responsibilities - Develop and maintain software that brings machine‑learning models into production environments. - Build AI/ML solutions leveraging NLP, NLU, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, ASR, and semantic/intent classification models. - Work with large‑scale computing and data‑processing frameworks and prepare data for model development. - Write production‑quality code, collaborate with data scientists, AI researchers, product teams, and software engineers to move models to production. - Communicate technical findings to leadership and stakeholders while adhering to company policies and flexible work arrangements. ## Success Profile - Quickly learn new AI/ML technologies and apply them under guidance. - Develop, test, and document machine‑learning models with clean, maintainable code. - Perform data preparation, feature engineering, and model evaluation. - Collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams and contribute to production‑ready AI/ML solutions. ## Required Qualifications - Graduate degree (B.Tech/BS) in Computer Science, AI, ML, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field. - Experience with SQL and relational databases; solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, OOP, and software development fundamentals. - Knowledge of statistics, probability, and basic machine‑learning concepts. - Familiarity with ML frameworks such as Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch. - Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala). - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills. ## Preferred Qualifications - Internship or project experience building AI/ML solutions. - Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and big‑data technologies (Spark, Databricks, Hadoop). - Understanding of MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, model deployment, and monitoring. - Experience with healthcare data or regulated environments, and familiarity with NLP, Computer Vision, or Predictive Analytics use cases.
