## About the role BeaconFire Inc. is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our fast‑growing team in New York. You will work on scalable web applications, modern AI‑augmented services, and end‑to‑end product features while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in an Agile Scrum environment. ## What you'll do - Design, develop, and maintain Java 8/17 applications using Spring Boot, Maven, and related technologies. - Build and integrate front‑end components with Angular 2+ or React.js, leveraging HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript. - Implement messaging and streaming solutions with Kafka and RabbitMQ, and work with both relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases. - Contribute to AI/LLM initiatives by creating RAG pipelines with Spring AI, LangChain4j, and vector databases, applying best practices for chunking, embeddings, and retrieval. - Write clean, testable code, conduct code reviews, and ensure maintainability, performance, and security through CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling. - Produce comprehensive technical documentation for APIs, deployment procedures, and system architecture. ## Required qualifications - Strong proficiency in Java and JavaScript (OOP concepts, Collections, Maps, Lists, Sets). - Experience with Spring ecosystem, Maven, and front‑end frameworks (React.js, Angular). - Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and basic query writing. - Understanding of the software development life‑cycle and Agile methodologies. - Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. ## Preferred qualifications - Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. - 0‑1 year of practical Java development experience. - Exposure to Spring AI, LangChain4j, or vector‑database technologies. - Basic understanding of AI/LLM concepts and RAG application building. - Knowledge of additional Java technologies like WebLogic or Tomcat. ## Benefits - Medical, vision, and dental insurance - 401(k) retirement plan - Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge AI integration projects - Collaborative, inclusive culture with continuous learning support
