## About the role Rockwell Automation, a global leader in industrial automation, is looking for an Associate Product Configuration Engineer to join its Bengaluru team. You will work on building and maintaining configuration tools that enable customers worldwide to select and purchase automation solutions efficiently. ## What you'll do - Develop, maintain, test, and support industrial automation system configuration and selection tools. - Design and implement product configurators based on marketing specifications and business requirements. - Organize, manage, and integrate product and configuration data from multiple databases into electronic marketing and sales tools. - Build and maintain server‑based web applications that support product configuration workflows. - Perform database programming activities, including data modeling, optimization, and troubleshooting. - Collaborate daily with product managers, engineering, and product‑marketing teams to deliver high‑quality configurator solutions. - Participate in software release, validation, testing, and deployment activities, supporting U.S. time zones when needed. ## Required qualifications **The Essentials** - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline. - 1‑4 years of software development and maintenance experience. - Strong experience with database programming and data‑management concepts (SQL, MS Access, Excel). - Hands‑on experience developing product configurators and working in live production environments. - Good knowledge of software development, testing methodologies, and technical documentation. - Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and communicate effectively with globally distributed teams. **Preferred** - Familiarity with industrial automation products, especially Rockwell Automation offerings. - Experience with CPQ/configurator platforms such as SAP Variant Configuration, Selectica, Oracle CPQ, Configit, or Tacton. - Experience building server‑based web applications. - Exposure to product lifecycle management and product data management processes. - Ability to lead technical discussions with business users and product managers. ## Benefits - Work on global industrial‑automation products and cutting‑edge digital engineering solutions. - Exposure to enterprise‑scale configurator platforms (CPQ, SAP VC, etc.). - Professional development and continuous learning opportunities. - Collaboration with global engineering, product management, and technology teams. - Hybrid work model: required onsite presence on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
