## About the Role Western Alliance Bank is seeking an Engineer I – Data Engineer to design, build, evaluate, and implement critical components of its enterprise data platform. This role supports the bank’s strategic data and analytics objectives, focusing on modern automation, cloud‑first design patterns, and cross‑business‑unit data integration. ## What You'll Do - Design, develop, evaluate, and deploy data engineering solutions using **Azure Data Factory**, **Azure Synapse Analytics**, and **Azure DevOps**. - Build ETL and data pipeline capabilities for regulatory reporting and LFI strategy. - Implement CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and apply test‑driven development practices. - Create Power BI visualizations and tabular cubes for business intelligence insights. - Conduct data exploration and profiling with tools such as Excel and Informatica. - Partner with product owners, data architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Support and resolve enterprise platform issues, troubleshooting files, data, APIs, and orchestration problems. ## What You'll Need - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MIS, Data & Analytics, or related field. - Basic knowledge of RDBMS and query languages (T‑SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL) and scripting concepts. - Familiarity with file, code, and data management tools (Visual Studio, VS Code, WinSCP, WinMerge, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOps). - Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first attitude. - Willingness to learn modern automation and integration methods. - Entry‑level exposure to financial services or banking concepts is a plus. ## Benefits - Competitive salary and ownership stake. - Medical, dental, and vision insurance. - 401(k) matching program. - Tuition assistance and wellness programs. - Volunteer opportunities and professional development. ## About the Company Western Alliance Bank, a member FDIC, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation.
