## About the Role Vertiv is looking for a Firmware Test Engineer to join its Pune division. The role is embedded within the firmware development team and works closely with a US‑based team to expand device communication capabilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of Vertiv’s communication card products through comprehensive firmware testing and Design Verification Testing (DVT). ## What You’ll Do - Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scenarios for firmware releases, performing functional, integration, and acceptance testing (black‑box and clear‑box). - Conduct DVT for new hardware and firmware releases, validating interactions with sensors, interfaces, and peripherals. - Log, track, reproduce, and verify software defects; collaborate with developers for root‑cause analysis and fix validation. - Generate test reports, release summaries, and quality metrics while providing testability feedback on product requirements. - Leverage test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework) and AI‑assisted tools to improve test coverage and productivity. ## Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, IT, or related field. - 2‑4 years of experience in software DVT testing. - Strong Python programming skills, especially for test automation. - Hands‑on experience with Linux operating systems and version‑control (Git). - Familiarity with communication protocols such as SNMP, Modbus, BACnet, HTTPS/REST APIs, and Redfish. - Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP) and optional experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Wireshark, and defect‑tracking tools (JIRA, Rally, Gitlab, Bugzilla). - Good interpersonal skills and fluency in written and spoken English. ## Benefits & Culture Vertiv promotes a high‑performance culture focused on safety, integrity, teamwork, and innovation.
