Job description

## Role Summary Embedded Firmware Developer with 4–5 years of hands‑on experience building firmware for automotive and industrial mmWave radar sensors. The role focuses on safety‑critical functions such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Moving Off Information System (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and other proximity/collision‑warning features. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware for FMCW mmWave radar sensors on TI (AWR/IWR), NXP (S32R, TEF) and Calterah platforms. - Configure radar front‑end parameters (chirp, frame, ADC sampling, TX/RX channel calibration). - Implement and optimise signal‑processing chains on DSP/hardware accelerators: range FFT, Doppler FFT, CFAR, angle‑of‑arrival estimation and point‑cloud generation. - Develop application‑layer features such as clustering, Kalman‑filter tracking, target classification and warning logic for safety systems. - Write low‑level drivers and BSP (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN/CAN‑FD, Ethernet, GPIO, timers, DMA, bootloader, flash). - Integrate firmware with vehicle networks using CAN‑FD messaging (DBC), diagnostics (UDS) and AUTOSAR stacks where applicable. - Work within an RTOS (FreeRTOS, TI‑RTOS/SYS‑BIOS) on multi‑core ARM Cortex‑R/M + DSP architectures. - Perform unit, integration and vehicle/field testing, analyse logged radar data and resolve false‑alarm issues. - Support functional‑safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE documentation and traceability. ## Required Skills - Strong Embedded C (and working knowledge of C++). - Radar fundamentals: FMCW principles, chirp/frame design, range‑Doppler processing, CFAR, angle‑of‑arrival, point‑cloud generation. - Experience with radar applications such as AEB, MOIS, BSIS, proximity/collision warning. - Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data analysis and tooling. - RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, TI‑RTOS/SYS‑BIOS) and multi‑core ARM/DSP platforms. - Peripheral interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART, CAN/CAN‑FD, Ethernet, DMA, bootloader. - Toolchains: TI mmWave SDK, Code Composer Studio, NXP S32 Design Studio, Lauterbach/JTAG debuggers, CANoe/CANalyzer, Git, JIRA. ## Preferred Skills - AUTOSAR Classic (MCAL, COM stack) configuration. - ISO 26262 functional‑safety and ASPICE project experience. - MISRA‑C compliance and static analysis tools (Polyspace, QAC, Coverity). - Advanced tracking/classification algorithms (EKF/UKF, DBSCAN). - Sensor‑fusion experience with camera or ultrasonic sensors. - Radar for off‑highway or industrial vehicle applications. - Exposure to EMC testing, production calibration and OTA/bootloader updates. ## Benefits The posting does not specify particular benefits or compensation details.
