## About the Role Flexiple, a high‑growth VC‑backed SaaS company, is building its founding India team. As a Backend Engineer you will design, develop, and operate core services and APIs that power the product’s main workflows. The role is fully remote within India, offering the chance to work on high‑impact features for a global marketplace. ## What You'll Do - Design and build REST or GraphQL APIs consumed by web and mobile clients. - Model data and write efficient queries for both relational and NoSQL stores. - Write integration and unit tests to catch regressions early. - Profile and optimise slow endpoints and background jobs, instrumenting services with logging, metrics, and alerts. - Participate in an on‑call rotation to resolve production incidents. ## Required Qualifications - 2 to 6 years of experience building backend services using Java, Python, Go, or Node.js. - Strong understanding of relational databases, indexing, and query performance. - Experience designing and versioning APIs used by multiple client applications. - Excellent written and spoken English and a reliable remote‑work setup. ## Preferred Qualifications - Exposure to message queues or event‑driven architectures such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS. - Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). - A degree in computer science or a related field. ## What We Offer - A backend engineer seat on the founding India team of a VC‑backed SaaS startup. - Remote‑friendly, pan‑India hiring with long‑term placement opportunities. - Direct ownership of services that sit on the product’s critical path. - Clear hiring process: HR screening → technical assessments → culture fit interview.
