## About the Role Marriott Tech Accelerator is looking for a Quality Automation Engineer to join the Hotel Websites (HWS) team within IT Application Development. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions for enterprise web applications and digital platforms, ensuring reliable and high‑quality digital experiences across browsers, devices, and locales. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications using Playwright and related tools. - Automate functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end test scenarios for desktop and mobile web. - Review requirements and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios and automation opportunities. - Execute automated suites, analyze failures, document results, and support defect resolution. - Perform manual testing for un‑automated or exploratory scenarios. - Validate UI behavior, responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, and multilingual content. - Develop and maintain automated API tests for backend services. - Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and log defects with clear reproduction steps. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain test data, configurations, and reusable components. ## Required Qualifications - 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or related technical role. - Hands‑on experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks for web applications. - Proficiency with Playwright; Selenium or similar tools are a plus. - Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript or Java. - Solid understanding of testing concepts, defect lifecycle, regression testing, and web technologies. - Knowledge of accessibility testing principles and web standards. - Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration abilities. ## Preferred Skills and Qualifications - Experience with test‑automation framework patterns (page objects, reusable components, test data management). - Familiarity with API testing tools such as REST Assured or Postman. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution in a continuous‑integration environment. - Proficiency with Git and collaboration platforms like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. - Understanding of WCAG/ADA accessibility standards and tools. - Exposure to performance, load, or reliability testing. - Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other CMS platforms. - Experience testing responsive, cross‑browser, mobile, multilingual applications. ## What Success Looks Like - Deliver reliable, readable, and maintainable automated tests aligned with acceptance criteria. - Investigate test failures, identify root causes, and communicate defects and risks clearly. - Expand automation coverage while balancing speed, stability, and business value. - Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement. - Demonstrate growing technical expertise in modern testing tools and quality‑engineering practices. ## Education and Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience/certification.
