## About the Role Marriott Tech Accelerator (MTA) is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Hotel Websites (HWS) team in Hyderabad. This is a backend‑focused position where you will work on Java and Spring Boot applications, build REST APIs, and support integrations with content management and digital experience platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). ## Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain backend features using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies. - Translate business requirements and acceptance criteria into robust application logic and services. - Build and maintain RESTful APIs, integrate with relational databases and other systems, and write unit/integration tests. - Collaborate with AEM/CMS engineers, front‑end developers, QA, DevOps, and product owners. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation, deployments, monitoring, and operational support of cloud‑hosted services. ## Required Qualifications - **2+ years** of professional software development experience with Java and backend technologies. - Hands‑on experience building REST APIs, working with relational databases, and developing microservices. - Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA or Hibernate, and source‑control practices. - Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly within a team. ## Preferred Skills & Qualifications - Experience with JSON, validation, exception handling, and API security concepts. - Knowledge of JUnit, Mockito, Postman, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms, messaging, caching, and monitoring tools. - Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or other CMS/digital experience platforms is a plus. ## What Success Looks Like - Deliver reliable, maintainable code that adheres to team standards. - Proactively communicate blockers and demonstrate ownership of assigned work. - Continuously improve technical skills, especially in backend engineering and integrations. - Contribute to stable, secure, and scalable backend services that enhance guest experiences. ## Benefits & Culture - Opportunity to work within a global hospitality leader with a strong heritage. - Collaborative environment that values people‑first, excellence, change, integrity, and service. - Hybrid work mode offering flexibility between office and remote work. - Access to learning resources, mentorship, and career growth within Marriott’s technology ecosystem.
