## About the Role Fam, India’s first payments app for users above 11, is looking for a Security Engineer Intern who thinks like a hacker but works for the good guys. As an Application Security Engineer Intern you will be the first line of defense, breaking things before malicious actors do, automating security checks and collaborating with engineers to protect millions of teenage users. ## On the Job - **Break the App:** Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (VAPT) on web applications, Android/iOS apps, and APIs. - **Automate Defense:** Help integrate SAST/DAST tools into CI/CD pipelines so security moves as fast as code. - **Code Review:** Identify and remediate security flaws such as SQLi, XSS, and IDOR in source code. - **Bug Triage:** Validate and prioritize bug reports from bug‑bounty programs. - **Threat Modeling:** Work with product and engineering teams during design to spot potential risks early. - **Learn & Evolve:** Stay current with the latest CVEs, zero‑days, and security trends. ## Who You Are - Deep understanding of the **OWASP Top 10** (Web & Mobile) and ability to both exploit and patch them. - Hands‑on experience with tools like **Burp Suite**, **Metasploit**, **Nmap**, **Postman** or similar open‑source security utilities. - Comfortable reading and scripting in languages such as **Python**, **Go**, **Java**, or **JavaScript**. - Active participant in **CTFs**, **Bug Bounties**, or platforms like HackTheBox/TryHackMe. - Strong communication skills to explain vulnerabilities clearly to developers. ## Why Join Us - **Impact:** Directly protect the financial data of millions of teenagers. - **Mentorship:** Work side‑by‑side with founding members and senior engineers who have built large‑scale systems. - **Perks:** Competitive stipend, certificate, letter of recommendation, friendly leave policy, and cool Fam merchandise. - **Onsite Experience:** Full‑time internship at Fam HQ in Bangalore, offering hands‑on exposure to a fast‑growing fintech environment.
