R&D Test Engineer

## About the role You will be joining as a Software Test Engineer in the Traction Division, based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will work closely with global engineering teams supporting controller modernization, embedded software migration, customer project customization, type testing, and system validation activities for auxiliary power conversion systems. ## What you’ll do - Perform test requirement analysis, manual testing, and develop test automation code in Python. - Maintain test defect logs and coordinate technical inputs with product owners and architecture teams. - Prepare detailed use‑cases, develop optimized test cases, and manage test environments and labs. - Create and execute release test descriptions and test plans, including functional, system, and integration testing. - Resolve customer‑specific issues and complaints for assigned products. ## Required qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. - Minimum **3+ years** of experience in software testing. - Proficiency in Python and TestComplete automation tool. - Strong understanding of requirements management, CI/CD, and the full testing lifecycle (manual, automated, release testing). - Ability to analyze test results, report defects, and contribute to test automation strategy. ## About ABB Traction ABB Traction is a global leader in advanced propulsion, auxiliary power conversion, battery charging, and energy storage solutions for rail transportation.
