## About the Role Cognite operates at the forefront of industrial digitalization, building AI and data solutions that tackle high‑impact challenges. As a Software Engineer, you will join a fast‑paced engineering team in Bengaluru, contributing to scalable backend systems and data platforms that process massive volumes of industrial data. ## What You'll Do - Develop and maintain backend applications and micro‑services. - Build and enhance data pipelines using technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Flink. - Design and implement REST APIs for high‑performance applications. - Work with large datasets, optimizing data‑processing workflows. - Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code. - Troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and fix bugs. - Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver new features. - Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices. ## What We're Looking For - 1–3 years of experience in software engineering or backend development. - Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python. - Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented programming. - Basic knowledge of distributed systems, micro‑services, and REST APIs. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (a plus). - Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and Git. - Exposure to Spark, Kafka, Flink, or similar technologies is an advantage. - Strong problem‑solving skills, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset. ## Nice to Have - Internship or project experience with distributed systems or data engineering. - Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines. - Exposure to monitoring tools and cloud‑native applications. ## What We Offer - Opportunity to work on modern cloud and distributed systems. - Mentorship from experienced engineers and continuous learning opportunities. - A collaborative, fast‑paced engineering environment. - Competitive compensation, benefits, and clear career growth paths.
