## About the role Medanta’s Digital Platform & Engineering (DPE) team is building the technology backbone for one of India’s largest hospital networks. As an Associate Software Engineer you will join a small, high‑calibre team that designs, builds and ships backend services used daily by doctors, nurses and patients. The role offers fast learning, exposure to senior engineers and product managers, and the chance to work on mission‑critical healthcare applications. ## What you’ll do - Design, develop, test and ship backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI). - Work with databases (PostgreSQL), caching (Redis) and messaging systems (Kafka) to build reliable, high‑performance services. - Participate in code reviews, write clean and well‑tested code, and help improve the overall development workflow. - Collaborate closely with product managers, designers and senior engineers to translate clinical workflows into technical solutions. - Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) throughout the development lifecycle while ensuring security and data‑privacy compliance. ## Required qualifications - 1–2 years of software development experience in a product‑focused environment. - Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOP, databases and operating systems. - Proficiency in Java or Python; experience with Spring Boot or FastAPI is a plus. - Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms such as AWS. - Good communication skills and a builder’s mindset with a focus on product impact. ## Benefits - Opportunity to build core hospital information systems, payment platforms, scheduling services and AI‑first products at scale. - Access to the latest AI coding tools and a flat, tech‑first culture with direct mentorship from senior leadership. - Clear career ladder modeled on India’s top product companies, with strong growth potential. - Work in a modern office in Noida with a collaborative, startup‑energy environment backed by a stable, publicly listed healthcare group.
